Christmas Cards

Image
Last week I made a few last minute Christmas cards to use for the neighbors and friends. I like how they all turned out.  The background of this is the CTMH Paper Fundamentals-neutral and I fussy cut the stockings from Yuletide Carol. The clothespins are new the new Lovestruck  clothespin and I thought they were perfect for this card. The "I Believe" is from the Yuletide Complements.  For these two cards I used cardstock, black and honey ink and the Reason for the Season stamp.  This is my favorite card using white and glacier cardstock, a little piece of silver glimmer cardstock and the Frosty Fun stamp set. I colored the girl and boy with my ShinHan markers. I will be doing this card for an upcoming winter card making class. This card was made using scraps of paper I had left from Yuletide along with some bling from the Yuletide Assortment.  All supplies for these products can be purchased here .

Throwback Thursday Free to Be Me Cards

Image
I had some Thank You cards to make for some girls in my class that got me gifts when I was done student teaching. I wanted something simple as they are only 12! I pulled out my remaining Free To Be Me paper pack and paired it with the Quick Cards-Seashell stamp. I used Flaxen and Chocolate for my inks.

Yuletide Layout

Image
Yuletide  is one of the more versatile Christmas paper packs Close to My Heart has carried in recent years. I created this fun layout to capture 2 small pictures and then a large 8 x 8 picture will go on the second page. I also used three of my Cricut Cartridges. I cut out "Merry Christmas" using Artbooking . The banner says Love & Joy and was cut with the new Artfully Sent cartridge and finally the ornament is cut using the Art Philosophy Cartridge.  I also add some gold glitter paper to give it some Christmas bling! I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a wonderful end of 2014.

Throw Back Thursday Proplayer Cards

Image
I just finished student teaching and some of my students got me gifts. I wanted to give them Thank You cards, but didn't want anything really fancy, because, well they are 11 and 12! These are for the 3 boys who gave me Starbuck's gift cards.  I pulled out some old Proplayer paper and the Proplayer Workshop on the Go stamp. I stamped the "Zone" in Outdoor Denim and "in the" in Ruby. They are simple, but I used up some paper and the students will appreciate them.

Pathfinding Layouts-Workshop on the Go

Image
I really like the Close to My Heart's Workshops on the Go . Everything you need to create two to three beautiful two page layouts. Included is all the paper you need, a stamp set and embellishments. The best part is the cost, only $29.95.  This Fall I completed the Pathfinding Workshop on the Go.  The first two layouts were created with directions from the kit: The third layout I created adding two additional pieces of Chocolate cardstock. I used Make it from the Heart Vol. 1 to get the idea for the layout. I also added a small piece of Chocolate fundamental paper  and used my Cricut and Artise Cartridge  to create the rosette.   All three layouts use Goldrush, Olive and Chocolate Ink. You can order all supplies here .

Pathfinding and November Stamp of the Month

Image
Life is finally starting to slow down for me now that grad school ends in 4 days!!! I am working on cards this week for the fabulous staff I have worked with. For these 2 cards I used Close to My Heart Pathfinding  along with the November Stamp of the Month "It's the Little Things". Here are the cards: For this card I used the November Stamp of the Month along with the sentiment stamps that came with the CTMH Artfully Sent Cartridge. I used Olive, Barn Red, Goldrush, Lagoon and Glacier Ink.    For this great card I used the new CTMH Cricut Cartridge, Artfully Sent . I cut everything at 4". I also added some Paper Fundamentals Basic  and brown glitter paper. The tree is from the Artbooking Cartridge cut at 3 1/2". I love how it turned out and is masculine enough to use for my school's principal.

Close to My Heart has an amazing special every month. You can get a $17.95 stamp set for only $5 with any $50 purchase. This is an amazing opportunity to get a unique stamp set that is only available for 30/31 days. This month's stamp set has a lot of versatility. Chalk It Up Cards

Image
I have had so much fun this month playing with the Close to My Heart Chalk It Up  paper. Tonight I made 3 cards using different papers from the pack and 3 different stamps.  This card uses the Lagoon dots and I also used the Your Own Kind of Wonderful  stamp set. This is by far my most favorite stamp set in the new Annual Inspirations. To create the butterfly I second generation stamped the solid butterfly and then stamped the decorative butterfly over the top. I also added some silver shimmer trim. This card I used Lagoon and Sorbet cardstock and stamped the Great Job stamp in Lagoon and added black enamel stars.     This card was created with the Teacher Appreciation stamp set and the black striped twill ribbon . All these products are available on my website .

Chalk It Up "Teacher Survival Kit"

Image
As soon as I saw the new Close to My Heart Chalk it Up paper I knew immediately that I could incorporate the scraps from the Workshop on the Go to the CTMH Kraft Container . The containers are only $3.95 and everything else is left over from the WOTG . I loved the new CTMH Teacher Appreciation  stamp set and it was perfect with the owl and sentiments. I also used the Cricut Artbooking and the stamp that came with it to make the paper.  In the Survival Kit I put in chocolate, pencils, lotion, hand sanitizer, tums, and tic tacs.

Chalk It Up Card

Image
I had so much fun making this card for my Open House tomorrow night. I used the new Chalk It Up paper from Close to My Heart along with the Great Job stamp, Thistle and Black stamp pads and a few of the new ShinHan markers. I used the CTMH Edge Distresser along the edges of the black and lagoon cardstock. I then stamped the large star flourish from Great Job and used some of the small stars on the stamp set. I then colored in using the ShinHan markers now available from Close to My Heart. You can order all the supplies used to make this card from here .

Workshop on the Go-Chalk It Up

Image
Close to My Heart makes scrapbooking easy for all skill levels. They also have kits that give you all the paper, stamps and embellishments you need to create beautiful, personalized layouts. One such kit is the Chalk it Up Workshop on the Go . Here is a picture of the kit: All I had to add to it was adhesive and the following Close to My Heart inks: Colonial White Ink Black Ink Sorbet Ink The Workshops on the Go provide cutting instructions and assembly instructions. There are two sets of instructions for this kit based on if you have the Cricut Artbooking cartridge. The best part of the kit is after I got these three layouts together (I had to add a piece of black paper and a piece of Chalk it Up bulk paper) I have enough paper to make cards, teacher gifts of more layouts. You can still create these three layouts with the kit provided you would just have different background paper for the 2nd layout. I also have plenty of ribbon and embellishments left to add to
